We used the hotel for a stop-over during a long journey. The location, being just off the motorway was perfect. The hotel owner was charming & spoke excellent English, having worked in the uk. Nothing was too much trouble! We were made most welcome.
On the downside, the hotel has been hit by the recession, and planned refurbishments haven't happened. It is very old and shabby. The dinner drinks seemed rather expensive as was a cup of tea in the morning.

The manager was extremely friendly and gave good service. Spoke very passable English.
The location of the hotel at a crossroads suffered from terrible noise at night from young motor-bike riders; the manager is aware of the problem but the mayor is unwilling to stop this. His son is one of the worst offenders! Walls of the bedrooms are very thin and one has to be aware of that and hope for good neighbours.

The booking process was very smooth and the owner was able to accommodate British visitors very well.
The room was tatty and drab. For example the combined pink and avocado wc!!

Pleasant proprietor with excellent English. Good continental breakfast.
The hotel was rather "tired" and in need of refurbishment, though adequate for an overnight stay.

The hotel was very dated. The shower was old and could only be used handheld. The bath was tiny and unusable. The bed uncomfortable and sinking in the middle. The room was located on a noisy road so unable to open the windows. It was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.

Very clean and comfortable hotel but rather a lot of traffic noise in early morning. The proprietor was very frinedly and helpful and cooked us a lovely meal even though we were the only guests and the restaurant was officially closed.

The host was really friendly, spoke english perfectly, but the bed was like sleeping on an iron mat, so, although we enjoyed our visit we would hesitate to book again unless we could be garaunteed a comfortable bed to sleep in.

Friendly and helpful owner who spoke English well and was welcoming to a party of 8, including children. Good value for money. Location very pretty and quiet with historic castle ruins and beautiful views of river Sarthe. (a village about 90 miles from Caen ferry port) Good evening meal and excellent breakfast of the best breads and pain au choculat we had in the whole holiday. Would certainly reccomend and return
No! The owner has been there for three years and is restoring. Facilities may not be to everyones tastes but we loved it and it's "Frenchness".

Convenient stopping place on journey, few minutes off motorway. Cheap, comfortable, manager/owner speaks excellent english.
Bedroom walls a bit thin; could have been noisy with the wrong neighbours.

Excellent location, lovely village, friendly staff.
The beds could do with updating.
